Then we no longer need to buy the application, because the purchase history is stored in iCloud.

    6. Family Sharing

    Reasons for losing iPhone contacts

Even though we have set up our iPhone properly and use it carefully so that no single data is lost from the phone. Still time to time, we lose some data like contacts from your phone. The reason for this loss can be:

    • Failed to upgrade or downgrade from iOS: from iOS 10 to iOS 11 or vice versa.
    • Your iPhone has a jailbroken error: while you are lifting the software restrictions imposed by iOS, you can also lose important data.
    • iPhone reset: You should only reset your iPhone to the factory settings as a last resort, as this can also lead to data loss. If you choose to do this, make sure that you back up your data beforehand.
    • You have lost or broken your iPhone.

How to avoid losing iPhone contacts?

You’ll probably want to make sure that this doesn’t happen to you again by following one of the following methods:

    • The best way to not lose contact is to back up your data regularly. You can perform this with either iCloud or iTunes whatever you prefer. While iCloud stores a backup of iPhone data on Apple’s servers, you can use iTunes to back up iPhone data directly to your PC or Mac.
    • You can also send contact lists to you regularly as a .vcffile .vcfand .vcfemail .vcf. It will be safe in your inbox.

    A. Back up your contacts on iPhone

When you use iCloud as a backup solution, you sync your contacts and back them up automatically. This option is enabled if you use iCloud by default. However, you can verify that it is configured and back it up. Here are the steps you need.

    • Open the settings and then tap iCloud
    • Make sure your iCloud account is set up and Contacts is turned on
    • Scroll down and click Storage and Backup
    • Touch Backup now

This manually backs up your contacts and other data to iCloud. This option is better than using iTunes because content stored in iCloud can be backed up from anywhere you have Internet access. Backing up iPhone contacts with iCloud is very convenient because you can manage everything on your iPhone and you don’t need to connect your phone to your computer. But cloud storage is usually slower than a local backup, this will take much longer for the backup process of your iPhone contacts to finish. And you only have 5 GB of free storage on your iCloud so there is no need to worry about storage limitations with iTunes or other applications. Finally, you will not be able to access and see the backup of iCloud contacts. At this point, the third-party application that you choose is much better than iTunes because the third party application can backup and export your contacts from your computer as .csv, .html, or vcard.

    B. Sync iPhone contacts with iCloud

You can also upload your contacts to iCloud. Here are the steps to do so.

    • Open the setup app on your iPhone
    • Select [your name]> iCloud, then select On for Contacts

    • Your device will then restart and you will be asked to set it up. Select the Restore option from iCloud Backup> Log in to your account> Select a backup to restore.

    F. Preview the contacts from the iCloud backup file and restore them selectively

If you have deleted important contacts from your iPhone, then you do not need to restore your device via the iCloud backup.
