Therefore, users typically activate their own cloud service on an iPhone or iPad.

    What is iCloud?

iCloud is a designation for cloud-based Apple services. You could say this is the core of all features, applications, storage, backup, and synchronization between Apple devices. iCloud is what allows all your information and activities on Apple devices to be connected and synchronized with each other. 3. iCloud Storage

This is a very important feature for Apple devices, where various data will be stored in iCloud, such as:

This feature is used to help find your device. If you lose your smartphone or forget where you last put it, you can use this emergency feature. This feature helps you find its location on a map, play a loud volume, send messages, lock the screen, or delete data. The Activation Key will make it difficult for anyone to use or sell an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch if your device is lost or stolen. You can use the Find My iPhone web app at iCloud.com on any computer, or download and use the free app on an iOS device.

    5. Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books and Applications

Have you ever bought Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books, or Applications on iTunes and the App Store? Buying or downloading content on iTunes and the App Store certainly requires an Apple ID account, but the purchase history will be saved and entered into iCloud. Thus, for example, we have an iPhone and buy a paid application, then we enter an iCloud account on other devices such as the iPad. Then we no longer need to buy the application, because the purchase history is stored in iCloud.

    6. Family Sharing

With family sharing, we can share with up to six accounts that are registered as family accounts. The things that we can share among family members are iTunes, App Store, and iBook Store purchase history. Even Apple Music subscriptions can also be shared between families. If we register two to six family accounts, one account will become a parent account. This account will control the purchase of all accounts registered in the family sharing service.

    7. Calendar, Notes, to Safari

With iCloud, we can share many things. Starting from the schedule on the calendar, share notes in Notes, to share content, history, reading lists in Safari. Make an appointment on an iPod? How come it can be opened on a Macbook. Make notes on an iPhone? Can you open it on the iPad? Do you want to continue browsing from the iMac? You can open it on your iPod. Everything is so integrated and synchronized.

    8. Reserve

Have an old iPhone and want to buy a cooler and more expensive new iPhone? You don’t need to lose all settings such as passwords, wallpaper themes, ringtones, iTunes and App Store purchase history, to iCloud photo collections. Simply log in to the same iCloud account, then all will go to your new iPhone. Likewise with iPod, iPad and Mac devices. All backups will be synchronized with other devices.

What is the function of iCloud?

When logged in, all settings are automatically set on by Apple, some very important functions are as follows:

    • Contacts – When you have multiple Apple devices and log in using the same iCloud, contacts will be synchronized and you can access contacts from your iPhone or from iPad, very practical and easy, of course.
    • Photos – After switching on the iPhone, it will upload all photos to iCloud, and there are two options, either saving the original resolution on the iPhone. Or saving a small resolution when opened through the app will automatically download the large resolution from the Apple Server. But remember that free iCloud capacity is only available 5GB if a subscription will be available a larger iCloud capacity of up to 2TB is also available.
    • Note – Notes that are activated will be synchronized to several other devices. For example: When we write a note on the iPhone it will automatically be available on all Apple devices that have the same iCloud login.
    • Mail – Works to Activate Email from Apple ID in the iPhone Mail application.
    • iCloud Backup – A very useful feature when an unwanted thing happens like a lost/damaged iPhone. We only need to log in iCloud and all data will automatically return to normal.

To activate the Keychain, you must come up with a 4-digit password and specify a phone number. It will receive an SMS with a code that you need to enter in the appropriate field.
    7. Find my iPhone: Find My iPhone is a service that, in a special application or on iCloud.com, shows the location of each of your Apple devices. And allows you to remotely lock, send a message asking you to return the device, or in a hopeless situation to erase all data. Find My iPhone is part of iCloud, at the corresponding point you can enable/disable the service and configure automatic saving of geolocation at a critically low charge level.

    Reasons for losing iPhone contacts

Even though we have set up our iPhone properly and use it carefully so that no single data is lost from the phone. Still time to time, we lose some data like contacts from your phone. The reason for this loss can be:

    • Failed to upgrade or downgrade from iOS: from iOS 10 to iOS 11 or vice versa.
    • Your iPhone has a jailbroken error: while you are lifting the software restrictions imposed by iOS, you can also lose important data.
    • iPhone reset: You should only reset your iPhone to the factory settings as a last resort, as this can also lead to data loss. If you choose to do this, make sure that you back up your data beforehand.
    • You have lost or broken your iPhone.

How to avoid losing iPhone contacts?

You’ll probably want to make sure that this doesn’t happen to you again by following one of the following methods:

    • The best way to not lose contact is to back up your data regularly. You can perform this with either iCloud or iTunes whatever you prefer. While iCloud stores a backup of iPhone data on Apple’s servers, you can use iTunes to back up iPhone data directly to your PC or Mac.
    • You can also send contact lists to you regularly as a .vcffile .vcfand .vcfemail .vcf. It will be safe in your inbox.

    A. Back up your contacts on iPhone

When you use iCloud as a backup solution, you sync your contacts and back them up automatically. This option is enabled if you use iCloud by default. However, you can verify that it is configured and back it up. Here are the steps you need.

    • Open the settings and then tap iCloud
    • Make sure your iCloud account is set up and Contacts is turned on
    • Scroll down and click Storage and Backup
    • Touch Backup now

This manually backs up your contacts and other data to iCloud. This option is better than using iTunes because content stored in iCloud can be backed up from anywhere you have Internet access. Backing up iPhone contacts with iCloud is very convenient because you can manage everything on your iPhone and you don’t need to connect your phone to your computer. But cloud storage is usually slower than a local backup, this will take much longer for the backup process of your iPhone contacts to finish. And you only have 5 GB of free storage on your iCloud so there is no need to worry about storage limitations with iTunes or other applications. Finally, you will not be able to access and see the backup of iCloud contacts. At this point, the third-party application that you choose is much better than iTunes because the third party application can backup and export your contacts from your computer as .csv, .html, or vcard.

    B. Sync iPhone contacts with iCloud

You can also upload your contacts to iCloud. Here are the steps to do so.

    • Open the setup app on your iPhone
    • Select [your name]> iCloud, then select On for Contacts
    • Select merge when a question appears asking what you want to do with your phone’s existing local connections

You can sync your iPhone with these simple steps.

    • First of all, you need to clear all content and settings on the device: Tap Settings> General> Reset> Clear content & settings.
    • Your device will then restart and you will be asked to set it up. Select the Restore option from iCloud Backup> Log in to your account> Select a backup to restore.

    F. Preview the contacts from the iCloud backup file and restore them selectively

If you have deleted important contacts from your iPhone, then you do not need to restore your device via the iCloud backup. You can also simply retrieve the required contacts from the old iCloud backup. This will save time when downloading the iCloud backup file.
    • After the scan, you can preview the extracted data. Select Contacts and you can look at the individual elements in detail. Mark the ones you want to restore and click Restore to save them to your computer with just one click. You have successfully retrieved your contacts from iCloud.
